“Firefox, the web browser is here to stay”. If there is anyone to take up IE’s (for that matter any other web browser’s) cause on this statement, I would be rather glad have that discussion with you. But right now I’m not in a mood to do that. But owing to human’s (and specially technologist’s) adamant and undying nature to digest anything new, I'll redirect you to a few links that might help to change your opinion:
Ok, so you agree that Firefox is simply the best. Well I am just going to give you one more reason to support your loyalty for “the fastest browser in the world”. Now this particular hack works for people having a broadband connection.
Do the following to make your browsing even faster:
- Firefox vs. IE vs. Opera vs. Safari
- Mozilla Firefox vs. Internet Explorer: Which is Safer?
- Why You Should Switch to Firefox
Ok, so you agree that Firefox is simply the best. Well I am just going to give you one more reason to support your loyalty for “the fastest browser in the world”. Now this particular hack works for people having a broadband connection.
Do the following to make your browsing even faster:
1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:Happy Browsing :)
network.http.pipeliningNormally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Show/Hide Image
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"This means it will make 30 requests at once.
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30.
Show/Hide Image
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New->Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0"(Zero without quotes). This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
Close your browser and open it again. This should do the trick.
